Bangladesh Delegation Visits CPPCC Democracy Practice Site in Shanghai
A high-level delegation from Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently visited the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Shanghai Committee's whole-process people's democracy practice site.
The visit coincided with the 50th anniversary of China-Bangladesh diplomatic relations. Both sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation and promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Iqbal Ahmed, Director General of the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy, praised Shanghai's inclusive approach to "whole-process people's democracy," saying it was inspiring to see democracy begin with listening to the people.
Zhang Xiaosong, Chair of the Committee on Friendship with Foreign Countries of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee, highlighted Shanghai's innovative democratic practices since President Xi Jinping introduced the concept in 2019.
This was the third visit by a Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry delegation to the Shanghai CPPCC, marking another step forward in friendship and cooperation between the two sides.
