Coffee festival
The first East China edition of the South Korea Coffee Festival took place at THE HUB · Xintiandi in Minhang District from October 16-19. It featured 38 specialty coffee brands from China, Japan, and South Korea, and five local Chinese dessert and bakery brands. The bazaar-style event included coffee tasting, social interaction, and cultural exchange, allowing consumers to try Asian coffee flavors without leaving the country. The festival featured 29 specialty coffee brands from Seoul, Busan, Daegu, and other Korean regions, including champion-led brands like Cospir (2019 Korea Hand Drip Championship), Aery (2024 Korea Barista Championship), and HOWW (2020 Korea Coffee Roasting Contest).
Innovation fund
The Grand neoBay Science and Technology Innovation Source Fund aims to channel more social capital into early-stage, small, long-term, and hard-tech ventures through a functional fund-of-funds. The initiative seeks to foster more competitive local hard-tech companies. The 10-billion-yuan (US$1.40 billion) government investment fund will involve strategic investment, new quality productivity, future industries, and industrial investment funds. They form a comprehensive matrix to support companies at every growth stage. The fund aims to create a "rainforest" ecosystem of parent and sub-funds by boosting its impact tenfold through central-local cooperation, district-municipal collaboration, and private capital.
Urban complex
Hongqiao Qianwan InCity MEGA, a large urban commercial complex in Minhang spanning over 400,000 square meters, announced that more than 200 brands have confirmed to set up counters in the mall. Positioned as an "international social resort and leisure bay," the project is located in the core area of Hongqiao Qianwan, and is set to open by the end of this year. The current leasing rate has exceeded 90 percent, with plans to introduce over 350 brands. Upon completion, it will fill the gap for large-scale commercial facilities in Qianwan, driving urban renewal and consumption upgrading in the region.
Integrated park
The Integrated Park for Human Resources Industry, Innovation, and Training in Zhaotong City, Southwest China's Yunnan Province, opened on October 28 in collaboration with Minhang District. The park, renovated from a Zhaotong middle school campus, is over 20,000 square meters. A community-oriented, eco-friendly, and systematic complex, it integrates learning, work, and living. The park has agreements with 45 HR and related companies. This has directly created employment for 662 people and indirectly over 7,200. The park's annual comprehensive output is expected to reach 350 million yuan by 2025.
New fire station
Wuzhong Road Community Micro Fire Station in Hongqiao Town is in trial operation. The station at 500 Wuzhong Road can reach any location within its 2.9-square-kilometer jurisdiction in 4 to 8 minutes under normal conditions and 6 to 12 minutes during traffic peak hours. It serves 32 residential communities, two hospitals, 34 key units, two schools, and 15 high-rises. The station has an eight-person team and a water-foam fire truck for 24/7 emergency response. Minhang currently has 11 town-level firefighting teams and 33 community micro fire stations.
AEDs for communities
Minhang District has given out 1,450 AEDs to residential communities in 14 subdistricts and towns, including Xinzhuang Industrial Zone. Most installations are in Pujiang, Meilong, Xinzhuang, and Qibao towns, each receiving over 150 units. The use of an AED during cardiac arrest can increase survival by 40 percent. To make emergency identification and use easier, the devices are installed in highly visible, unobstructed locations with standard "AED" signage. Additionally, the district's health commission and the Red Cross Society are providing on-site AED training for neighborhood committee members, property security officers, community volunteers, and corporate employees.
Harvesting farmland
Shanghai Yangxin Agricultural Development Co Ltd began harvesting over 400 mu (26.7 hectares) of high-quality farmland in Guangming Village of Zhuanqiao Town in Minhang on October 26. On-site yield measurements showed that three local high-quality rice varieties yielded over 600 kilograms per mu, exceeding Shanghai's suburban rice productivity. An urban rice industry community will be created by replicating and expanding Guangming's high-standard demonstration field and adding 500 mu of farmland next year.
'Minhang strength'
Minhang's 16-year-olds Li Qiufu and Hu Yueqian are in line to represent China at the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers, bringing "Minhang strength" to the international stage. Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and Shanghai Port have scouted Li, the captain of Shanghai's U16 men's team, for a professional football career. Hu, a key player for Shanghai's U16 team and a Qibao High School student, wants to enter top domestic universities through sports specialty admissions.

Meilong Ecological Park
The autumn scenery of the nearly 600,000-square-meter Meilong Ecological Park is stunningly beautiful. Tall goldenrain trees in the park have blossomed with pink fruits, resembling strings of delicate pink "lanterns." Clusters of charming, dainty fruits already adorn crabapple trees one after another. Fragrant osmanthus flowers compete for attention alongside the goldenrain trees, together dressing up Minhang's autumn.
