Shanghai United Media Group is showcasing a wide range of cultural, creative and tech-driven products at the 6th Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo, held from November 20 to 22.

The display highlights the media group's year-long push to upgrade and transform mainstream media operations.

One of the centerpieces is SUMG's latest reform effort, the "IP Star Chain Workshop."

With the goal of "enhancing the core competitiveness and self-sustainability of mainstream media," four top-tier integrated media studios and related products have been created.

Urban IP cultural and creative products and media-specific creations from the group's businesses are also displayed.

IPs illustrating Jiangnan culture and haipai (Shanghai-style) culture include the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Yuyuan Garden, and the Normandie Apartments.

Media-themed cultural and creative products include the Shanghai citywalk coffee cup and saucer and matching mugs.

A range of co-branded cultural and creative items is also available, including The Paper's emotional wellness series, which was launched jointly with Shanghai Mental Health Center.

SUMG strives to be China's most technologically advanced cultural media group. To date, the organization has created 70 digital humans, greatly lowering on-site shooting time and expenses for media operations while increasing focus on content planning.

Multiple media outlets within the group have formed a professional team that specializes in AIGC-powered video creation, handling the entire workflow from copywriting to video generation to synthesis.

Furthermore, SUMG has created its own unified large model platform, which combines both the group's resources and conventional AIGC tools to improve the job efficiency of all journalists and editors.
