'Women Who Kill: A Detective Mystery' returns to Shanghai

Shanghai's most thrilling theatrical sensation is back – with sharper claws and deeper twists.

"Women Who Kill: A Detective Mystery," the genre-bending original production that set The Pearl ablaze, returns on June 13-15 for a limited run before embarking on its international debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the world's largest performing arts showcase.

In a world of vintage glamor and lethal secrets, Women Who Kill invites audiences into a shadowy 1920s-inspired crime cabaret where no one is innocent, and every song is a clue.

Blending immersive storytelling, original music, dazzling choreography and a rotating cast of unforgettable femme fatales, this interactive mystery-musical challenges the audience to unravel a web of lies and motives – before it's too late.

Inspired by the hit series "Why Women Kill," the show takes things further: expect psychological tension, live jazz, noir aesthetics, and a constant stream of gasp-worthy twists. You won't just watch the drama unfold – you'll play detective. The ending? It's up to you. With an open-ended structure and audience voting, no two nights are the same.

Created by the visionary team Creative Wave (Ksenia Geddes & Trenton Schneiders), and featuring an all-new cast, 100 percent original score (Sasha Zaharik), and choreography by Sasha Riabchenko and Dilermando Hizidorio, this is a homegrown Shanghai production with global ambition.

To help the creators bring Shanghai's creative power to Edinburgh, 60 percent of ticket sales will go directly to supporting their international tour.
