With the mercury soaring in Shanghai, water parties, marine shows and water-splashing carnivals at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park in the Pudong New Area are offering a cool respite from the sweltering summer heat.
At the most popular orca water splash & music party, the marine stars become cool messengers, stunning the crowd with their signature "splash attack" – dousing cheering visitors with refreshing water.
A bountiful treat to enhance nutrition
The Electric Sound Plaza hosts day-and-night water dancing carnivals, while Polar Town features sea lion water-splashing activities. A mecha parade will bring the party to a climax at the park, which is home to about 100,000 marine animals.
Ten indoor venues maintain a constant temperature of 20 degree Celsius, and visitors are invited to get close to penguins and feel the freezing moments from Antarctica, creating a stark contrast with the outdoor heat, or watch polar bears frolicking lazily.

The Ultraman carnival is a highlight of the celebration, featuring Ultraman shows, 400 precious exhibits such as sculptures and cockpits, Ultraman card competition, Ultraman drone shows and electronic music.
The park's "Mermaid Fairy Tale" show will present an underwater art feast beyond imagination. Scales shining, fish tails swaying... When 10,000 golden trevallies and mermaids merge into a swimming galaxy and "dance" together, the beauty of the ocean is integrated into artistic aesthetics.
The fireworks and drone gala will light up the park sky for 44 days through August 24. The water curtain light show brings an immersive audio-visual feast, delivering a fun and refreshing summer experience.
