A Movie-Themed Night With Budapest Scoring Orchestra
The Budapest Scoring Orchestra will make its China debut on November 14 with a "Classic Movie Soundtrack Concert" at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
In the 1980s, film studios looked for locations outside of the United States and the United Kingdom to record film music. Budapest became the first and most popular destination for film scoring sessions, attracting names like Jerry Goldsmith, Michel Legrand, Alan Menken, Ennio Morricone, and others who flocked to Hungary to record music for their films.
The Budapest Scoring Orchestra, with over a hundred film and TV credits, has built a strong reputation in the film scoring industry since its founding in 2012. The orchestra has contributed to high-profile events such as the Super Bowl, Disneyland shows, and feature films, including Jordan Peele's "Get Out," as well as music for video games.
At the upcoming Shanghai concert, the 70-member orchestra plans to perform titles and suites from more than ten renowned classic movies, including "Forrest Gump," "Jurassic Park," "Legends of the Fall," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "The Legend of 1900," and "The Notebook," among others.
It's worth noting that this will be the world debut of the overture for "The Notebook." This film, known for its touching music, has influenced many people's perspectives on love. However, the original score has never been performed at formal concerts before.
Additionally, during this concert, the audience will have the opportunity to experience the intense emotional expression of female film composer Debbie Wiseman through her composition for "Wilde."
