Jinshan District gets ready for peony festival

The first Shanghai bay area peony festival will be held at Langxia Countryside Park, Jinshan District, from April 1 to May 3.

The peony garden of the park is divided into red, yellow, pink and purple parts, featuring more than 100,000 flowers of various types, such as single petal, lotus, golden ring and hydrangea. In addition to the well-known varieties of Erqiao (二乔) and Zhaofen (赵粉), the relatively rare black and green peonies are a visual treat.

Meanwhile, the park has prepared various immersive performances, such as flash mob dance performed by girls in hanfu (Han-style clothing), long sleeves dance and 12 flower fairies parade.

Tourists can also try intangible cultural heritage snacks and experience interactive family activities.

The admission fee is 50 yuan (US$7.2), but free of charge during 5pm-8pm on weekends and national holidays.
