An exhibition marking 20 years of China's lunar exploration program is currently underway at the World Expo Museum in Shanghai. The showcase offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore China's achievements in space science and technology.
Among the exhibits are lunar soil samples brought back by the Chang'e 5 and Chang'e 6 missions. Chang'e 6 holds particular significance for returning humanity's first-ever sample from the far side of the moon, a milestone in space exploration.
Visitors can also see the reentry capsule and parachute from the Chang'e 5 mission, which protected and transported lunar soil over 380,000 kilometers back to Earth, providing an insightful look into the advanced technology behind China's lunar exploration endeavors.
Blending scientific discovery with educational engagement, the exhibition aims to inspire public interest in space exploration and deepen understanding of lunar science.
The themed exhibition series has previously been showcased at prominent venues such as the National Museum of China, the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, and the Beijing Planetarium.
The current exhibition at Shanghai Expo Museum will run until Sept 15.
