Expats travel Suzhou with Chinese films

The "China Travel with Chinese Films" campaign was recently held at Suzhou's Humble Administrator's Garden and Shanghu Lake Scenic Area in Changshu, a county-level city of Suzhou. The initiative, launched by China Film Administration and China Media Group, aims to leverage the international success of Chinese New Year blockbusters with the series of recent visa-free transit policies to attract more overseas visitors to China.

On last Thursday, over a dozen foreign employees from a German multinational corporation embarked on an unforgettable cultural tour at the Humble Administrator's Garden. The visitors explored several pavilions, terraces, and open halls, mesmerized by a stunning light show that brought to life the beauty of traditional Chinese paintings, drawings, and embroidery.

An outdoor projector displayed segments from popular Chinese films, offering tourists a unique, cinematic experience.

Andrei Olaru from Romania said during the tour, "When we enter the garden, starting with the short film about the garden's history was just amazing. I think combining an immersive cultural experience with film is an ideal way to attract people, allowing them to engage with both the cultural and historical significance of these places."

A French family visited Shanghu Lake Scenic Area through the "China Travel with Chinese Films" campaign last Saturday.

The Shanghu Lake derives its name from famous military strategist Jiang Taigong whose given name is "Shang." According to legend, Jiang Taigong often came here to fish. He's a main character in the movie "Creation of the Gods," and Ne Zha's master's peer.

11-year-old Louis Alix expressed his love for Ne Zha, "I watched 'Ne Zha 2' a couple of days ago. I think Ne Zha is very brave."

Bruno Alix, father of Louis and also a fan of "Ne Zha 2," said, "I hope my son can become Jiang Taigong and become very clever and patient like him. He's an example for my kid."

The Shanghu Lake will also host a peony exhibition at the end of March, with over 300,000 people expected to attend.
