What to expect
Twin Hills isn't just your average hill. It covers a massive 300,000 square meters, with two peaks: the main one at 48 meters and a smaller one at 37 meters. Over 7,000 trees are planted around it.
But here's the cool part – the mountain has a hollow, cavern-like structure inside, which is a first in China for any artificial, nature-inspired forested mountain over 40 meters tall.
The mountain contains exhibition halls, parking spaces, and other facilities. The parking garage solves the parking issues for park visitors and nearby residents.
Essential infrastructure such as substations and mechanical rooms are also housed within the hollow structure, saving surface space for more green areas and improving the park's ecological benefits.
You can hike up in about 20 minutes, but don't worry if you're not feeling too energetic – there's an elevator that takes you straight to the top – the Twin Hills mountaintop viewpoint!
And the views are stunning: you can enjoy panoramic views of the central lake, the 11-arch bridge, and distant landmarks such as the Lupu Bridge, the China Art Museum, and the stunning Lujiazui skyline. It's also a fantastic spot for night views.
Oh, and did we mention it? There's a waterfall too. Yep, you can check out one of Shanghai's rare waterfall scenes right here.
Family fun bonus
If you're bringing the kids, they'll love the Magic Kingdom for children at the base of the hill. It's designed with families in mind, which caters to visitors of all ages and offers an enjoyable experience for family outings.
The the 11-arch bridge complements Twin Hills, creating a scenic focal point.
