Kieran from New Zealand offers a quick glimpse of things in Qiantian (an up-and-coming hotspot for new expat residents in Shanghai). "Just come up 1 year in Shanghai! We have recently just moved into a new apartment which was very sheltered from the winds. We have very large windows so it was actually nice to watch the weather but feel very safe! My two teenage children came out of their dungeons(rooms) often to see what was happening on our side of the apartment and to look at the flooding etc! Last year we were on the top floor of our apartment, I would imagine that would have been a very different experience." – Kieran
Cheers to Kieran's kids coming out of their dungeons. Some of us have yet to do so! ;)

Katt sends this to us, closer to the eye of the storm in Minhang District. "It was interesting to see how the wind affected things in different ways depending on the direction the wind came from. For instance, the front of the house was affected at the beginning and then after the 'eye-of-the-storm;' it became the back of the house affected. And the wind was sudden and strong. " – Katt B.
Scott, from Baton Rouge Louisiana, went for a stroll down Julu Road.
"My building lost power just after 8am, before the storm even got here, so it's been good times all day. AND IT JUST CAME BACK ON AS I FINISHED THAT SENTENCE, woo!"
Antony from the UK snapped this pic in his compound.
