Pest-control measures have been stepped up to ensure the safety of the China International Import Expo, which opens with a ceremony on Wednesday night.

Eight teams with 40 professionals are responsible for pest control and disinfection inside and around the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the expo venue, said the Shanghai Health Commission. Another 200 are responsible for each district, including hospitals, hotels, guest service centers and tourism spots.
