Time For Three, a Grammy-winning band from America, joined the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra for a concert titled "To the Future" at Shanghai Symphony Hall over the weekend as part of the ongoing Music In The Summer Air (MISA) Festival.
Featuring Nicolas Kendall and Charles Yang on violin and Ranaan Meyer on double bass, they played Kevin Puts' "Contact," which won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Classical Composition. The group has won a Grammy for Best Classical Instrumental Solo.

It was also the first time the trio had collaborated with young conductor Jin Yukuang.
Jin led the orchestra in the second half of the concert for the world premiere of Hong Kong composer Elliot Leung's "Tree," a five-movement symphonic work commissioned by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Botanical Garden for MISA, with "environmental protection" as its theme.
As part of the Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season, MISA is filling the city's summer with music until July 13.
