[Hai Guide] No kidding, Shanghai Baby Houses are fun, safe and structured for toddlers

Attention, Parents of Tiny Humans in Shanghai!

Tired of your toddler using your living room as a personal gymnastics arena? Need a safe, fun, and structured place where your little whirlwind can socialize, learn, and – most importantly – burn off that boundless energy?

Good News: Community Baby Houses across Shanghai are now open to all residents, including those from overseas. That means even more adorable toddlers toddling around in safe, fun spaces while you catch a breath or a coffee.

Even better, they're now having the bilingual appointment channel open.

What's a Baby House

Imagine a place just in your neighborhood where your 1- to 3-year-old can finger-paint, tumble around, sing loudly, and make new friends – all under the watchful eye of professionals who know what they're doing.

These fully-equipped play havens have everything from storytime corners and sensory games to music and movement activities. And the best part? You don't have to clean up afterward.

Free Visits for Every Child

Here's some extra good news: Each child aged 1 to 3 can enjoy 12 free visits per year to the Baby House.

After those 12 sessions, additional visits will be charged at a non-profit rate. It's a fantastic way to give your child new experiences without breaking the bank.

How Do You Get In

Simply open the Suishenban (随申办) App – Shanghai's all-in-one government service platform – or scan the QR code using WeChat. First-time users will need to complete a quick verification step.

Once that's done, select the Baby House closest to you, book a spot, and then just show up. Your little one gets a fun-filled day, and you get a well-earned breather. Sounds like a win-win!
