Greetings Shanghai-ren! We're starting something a little fun, to pay homage to the city's very distinct urban style. There are some pockets in the SH where the city's stylish love to strut their stuff, and so we thought that... why don't we snap a few pics for the history books.

Off the heels of a major fashion event like Balenciaga launching this year's spring collection in Shanghai, there is quite a lot that is putting the city "on the map" as Asia's fashion capital.

Congratulations to Karolin for being selected as our headline model. She's 18 and from Bulgaria. She's on an exchange program studying Chinese at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), and she thinks "it's amazing!" A compliment to her teachers. She's been studying Chinese for four years now, and this is her THIRD time in China, studying in Tianjin before, visiting Beijing and now SHANGHAI!

We took quite a few photos of people wearing sunglasses. We decided not to include any of them in this round. But this lovely gentle lady did a clever pose with hers, and still let us see her eyes.

Mary, 27. A Canadian who's an entrepreneur, and visiting Shanghai from Guangzhou. She lived in GZ from 2011-2019, then went to stay with her family in Colombia during the pandemic. She just returned to China and "...cannot be more happy. We absolutely love our life here." She's a co-founder at Golden Mark Ltd, a company that does furniture for the Hilton Hotels in South America and famous coffee shop chains there. They are also introducing "an amazing product. A coffee pulp concentrate that has numerous health benefits derived from Colombian coffee beans." We love the vibe Mary!
