A rare journey through 3,000 years of science and wonder is now within reach of Chinese audiences, as the University of Cambridge brings its first-ever officially authorized public exhibition to China.

Titled "From Magic World to Science," the groundbreaking show opens this summer at the Shanghai Library's East Branch, marking a milestone in global science and cultural exchange.

Jointly presented by the University of Cambridge, Shanghai Library and immersive exhibition developer Museum Box, this landmark exhibition is designed to captivate visitors of all ages.

It explores how humanity has transformed magic into science across cultures and centuries – from ancient cosmologies to cutting-edge breakthroughs.

With the theme "From Magic to Science," the exhibition traces the evolution of human knowledge through rare artifacts, documents and interactive experiences.

A display of the Periodic Table of Elements

Over 100 recreated historical objects and models are on display, selected from the collections of Cambridge's prestigious institutions, including the University Library, Whipple Museum of the History of Science, Trinity College, King's College and the world-renowned Cavendish Laboratory.

Among the treasures featured are a hand-edited manuscript of Isaac Newton's "Principia Mathematica" and a notebook sketch of Charles Darwin's iconic "Tree of Life."

Through immersive multimedia installations, the exhibition offers visitors a hands-on exploration of science across time – from Ancient Greece, Egypt, India, China and the Arab world, to the Western scientific revolution and modern-day Chinese contributions to global science.
