The Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival is back in the Pudong New Area, and visitors can admire a sea of pink cherry blossoms until April 9.
The flowering season of peach blossoms this year is about half a month later than usual due to the cold weather. The flowers are light pink at first, but as time passes, they will bloom into a blaze of bright colors.
Women dressed in hanfu, traditional Chinese garments, take photos of peach flowers.
This year's festival, held at the Nanhui Peach Blossom Village, is five days longer than usual for the Qingming Festival.
Visitors to Huinan Town, where the festival is held, will be able to enjoy much more than peach blossoms because the festival will provide a variety of events.
A hanfu (traditional Chinese garments) parade will be held to showcase a different type of beauty, while night fairs and night parties will give visitors more reasons to stay in Huinan overnight.
Other towns and villages in Pudong will undoubtedly seize the opportunity. Fruit picking, camping, fairs, music festivals, and even matchmaking parties will be held to showcase their local cultures and cuisines to visitors.
The towns' tourism authorities have released six sightseeing itineraries to ensure that visitors do not miss anything.
