Jeffrey Greene, chairman of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, signs the exhibition guest book on Tuesday.
The Flying Tigers was a volunteer air force unit made up of American pilots and technical personnel who came to aid China in its resistance against Japanese invasion during World War II.
To commemorate the heroic efforts of the Flying Tigers and the deep friendship forged between the Chinese and American people, the "Remembering Heroes and Creating the Future Together – Flying Tigers Photo Exhibition" opened in Shanghai on Tuesday.
During the fight against Japanese fascist aggression, the people of China and the United States stood united against a common enemy, forging a profound bond of camaraderie through shared sacrifice. On the Chinese battlefield, the legendary story of the American Flying Tigers resisting Japanese invaders became a lasting symbol of that friendship.
Guests at the opening ceremony tour the exhibition.
The photo exhibition, which will run through September 14, is divided into five sections:
Together, these five sections recount the extraordinary contributions of the Flying Tigers during wartime and the valuable history of Sino-American cooperation in the fight against fascism.
The exhibition highlights the enduring spirit of the "Flying Tiger friendship" between the two peoples – a powerful story of unity passed down through generations.
A plaque awarding ceremony was held for the Flying Tigers Friendship Schools during the exhibition's opening on Tuesday.
