Italian artist Patrizio Di Sciullo describes the intricate process involved in the creation of woodcut artwork.
The international printmaking exhibition "Meet at North Bund" has opened at the China Securities Museum in Hongkou District and will run through October 31.
This exhibition features nearly 100 prints created by 32 artists from China, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, and Bulgaria.
The artworks encompass a range of techniques, from woodcuts and etchings to mixed-media prints, all of which explore themes of urban life, history, and cultural exchange.
Notable highlights include Italian artist Patrizio Di Sciullo's large-scale piece "City of Gold and Silver," which presents the Bund's skyline in a scroll-like format.
Additionally, his sculpture "Golden Key to Arts · North Bund" symbolizes the convergence of the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek.

Chinese artists are showcasing works that capture Shanghai's riverfront architecture, everyday street scenes, and the legacy of the renowned writer Lu Xun, who brought modern woodcut art to the city in the 1930s.
The exhibition also highlights new pieces created during the North Bund Artist Residency Program, where nine selected artists created works inspired by the district's rich history and scenic waterfront.
Curator Zhu Jianhui stated that the exhibition's goal is to reestablish a connection between people and the tactile nature of printmaking, especially in a time when digital images dominate.
To foster engagement, the museum has set up eight studios where visitors can participate in printmaking activities.
