Step into the Tang Dynasty: An immersive experience at Fengxian Museum

Are you fascinated by the golden age of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) – its poetry, wine, Silk Road trade, and the sound of camel bells? Step into the past at Fengxian Museum and experience life in ancient Chang'an just like a true Tang-era citizen!

This exhibition offers an immersive "time-travel" experience into the aesthetic life in the Tang Dynasty – the first in China to combine exhibition, education, entertainment, community, and performance in one integrated platform.

The exhibition unfolds in three exciting steps!

Step One: Your guidebook

Grab your time-travel guidebook and get ready to master life in ancient Chang'an. It's packed with fascinating information on Chang'an's city layout, must-see landmarks, currency, language, trade, food culture, transportation, accommodation, festivals and social rules.

Pick-up location: Service Center

Pick-up times: 9am, 10am, 2pm, 3pm

• Each visitor may collect one copy only.
• 100 copies available per time slot, with a daily limit of 400.

Step Two: Your role card

The exhibition features an original role-play experience. Draw one of five immersive character cards: musician/dancer, foreign merchant, scholar, ceremonial officer, or military officer. Make your way to the second floor, draw a mystery box, and reveal who you were in the Tang Dynasty – your adventure begins.

Step Three: Immersive NPC (non-performing character) experience

Step right into history with an NPC-guided immersive tour! Professional actors bring your five Tang-era character roles to life with periodic storytelling and interactive performances inside the exhibition hall.
