Have you ever seen mythical beasts from the "Classic of Mountains and Seas" come to life, or heard the celestial melodies of chimes made from real meteorites?
Blending meteorites and Chinese mythology, the Shanghai Astronomy Museum, in partnership with Hubei Provincial Museum, has unveiled "Stars Fallen, Greatness Risen" exhibition.
The major exhibition invites you on an extraordinary journey through science, myth, history and art which are all centered around meteorites. It also offers an opportunity for visitors to interact with the world's first "Monkey King Bar" fully made out of iron meteorite.
One of the exhibition's most captivating highlights is "Wan Lai Ji" (万籁寂), the world's first complete set of meteorite stone chimes, handcrafted from iron meteorites to echo the harmony between nature and the cosmos.
"Wan Lai Ji" debuted at the opening of the "Stars Fallen, Greatness Risen" exhibition.
The meteorite stone chimes feature the unique Widmanstätten pattern of iron meteorites.
Whether you're an amateur astronomer or a fan of Chinese mythology, this is a cosmic encounter not to be missed.
