Elite cueists compete in Pudong for 9-Ball China Open crown and US$373,600 purse

The 2025 WPA Tang Cheng 9-Ball China Open, which has attracted players from over 40 countries and regions, including the top 16 players in the world, has begun in Tangzhen Town, Pudong.

They will compete at the Tangzhen Cultural and Sports Center through Sunday for a total of US$373,600 in prize money.

Eight players secured their spots in the tournament through a qualifier held earlier this week. Among them are Shanghai players Yang Zhiping and Gao Meng, Liu Yuncheng from Chinese Taipei, and Liu Xiazhi from Jiangsu Province.

These players will join the members of the Chinese 9-ball national team, which is led by Han Yu, the champion of the 2025 Chengdu World Games. The male champion will receive a prize of US$40,000, while the female champion will take home US$36,000.

The ticket price ranges from 128 yuan (US$17.9) to 308 yuan. Those interested can scan the QR code below to purchase tickets. Ticket-holding spectators can even enjoy discounts at Tangzhen's shopping malls from September 10 to October 8.
