Pudong Airport has optimized its clearance process, added multilingual guidance, and opened 12 dedicated CIIE immigration channels. If you are arriving in China via Pudong Airport, this guide provides everything you need to know for a fast and smooth entry experience.

Scenario 1: Visitors with a Valid Chinese Visa or from Visa-Free Countries

Step 1: Fingerprint Self-Collection

Foreign travelers entering China must complete fingerprint registration before immigration inspection.

Self-service fingerprint collection areas are available in both terminals:

Please complete fingerprint registration at one of these designated areas before proceeding.

Step 2: Fill Out the Arrival Card

Step 3: Use the Special Channel Dedicated to CIIE

To better serve CIIE participants and ensure efficient clearance, 12 "Special Channels Dedicated to CIIE" have been established and are staffed around the clock.

Look for signs marked "Special Channel Dedicated to CIIE."

Exhibitors and merchants can use these dedicated lanes by presenting:

• A valid passport or other international travel documents
• A CIIE participation certificate or invitation letter and other materials
• Using this special channel will help reduce waiting time and ensure a smoother immigration experience.

Scenario 2: Travelers Eligible for the 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy

Citizens from 55 eligible countries who hold valid international travel documents and confirmed connecting tickets (with fixed dates and seats) to a third country or region within 240 hours can enter China visa-free via any of 60 designated ports across 24 provinces.

This year, the policy continues to expand and attract more visitors, reflecting China's ongoing commitment to openness and international exchange.

Step 1: Register Fingerprints

Complete fingerprint registration at the self-service fingerprint collection area in your terminal.

Step 2: Fill Out the Arrival Card for Temporary Entry of Foreigners

Proceed to fill in the Arrival Card for Temporary Entry Foreigners at the designated desks.

Step 3: Apply for a Temporary Entry Permit and Complete Immigration Inspection

Eligible travelers should prepare the following:

Valid international travel document

Connecting ticket

Completed Arrival Card for Temporary Entry of Foreigners
