The MXGP of China wrapped up at the Shanghai International Off-Road Circuit in Fengxian district on Sept 14 after a three-day competition.

As the 19th round of the 2025 FIM Motocross World Championships and sole Asian round, the Shanghai stop featured more than 70 top international riders from 33 elite teams, presenting a racing feast for motor sports enthusiasts.

Jeffrey Herlings and Sacha Coenen of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing were crowned in the MXGP and MX2 classes, respectively, both strengthening their position before the final round of the season.

Despite dominating both races, Herlings was significantly tested by the intense conditions on the track in Shanghai.

"Maybe it looked simple, but this was one of the hardest ones for me to win. I feel like a chicken that's been on the barbecue for an hour. The heat was tough," he said.

The scorching heat with a temperature up to 36 degrees Celsius and high humidity made the Shanghai International Off-Road Circuit one of the most difficult places to race.

Off the track, this thrilling event was a dynamic blend of motocross racing, culture, business, tourism, and exhibitions, highlighted by the Fengxian Outdoor Sports Lifestyle Festival.

The festival included a lineup of activities, including live music performances, freestyle motocross shows, test rides, magic shows, and a diverse array of global cuisine, showcasing Shanghai as a global sports and cultural hub.
