ICYMI: Week 72

This week's prize

Winners this week will receive free movie tickets from Wanda Cinema! There will be 10 winners, and each person will receive two tickets, valid until December 31, 2025.

As August rolls around, it brings with it a special and romantic Chinese celebration – Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day. It falls on August 29 this year.

This traditional holiday is rooted in one of China's four great folktales, telling the touching story of a mortal man and a heavenly fairy who fall in love. But their love is forbidden, and a vast Milky Way separates them. Moved by their endless sorrow, a flock of magpies forms a bridge across the sky once a year so the lovers can reunite.

So why not take your special someone to the cinema this Qixi? Watch a romantic film together and express how you truly feel.

This exclusive giveaway is presented by Shanghai Daily in partnership with Wanda Cinema.

Each movie voucher is valid for same-day screenings at participating Wanda Cinema box offices in Shanghai.

Note:

  • These tickets cannot be used for special showings such as film festivals, celebrity meet-and-greets or screenings on holidays like Christmas Eve (December 24), or Christmas Day (December 25).
  • They also do not apply to VIP theaters, and cannot be combined with any other promotions or discounts.

Wanda Cinema remains a top choice among Shanghai moviegoers, offering a wide range of films and state-of-the-art viewing environments – whether you're planning a family outing or a cozy date for two.
