The Japan Graphic Designers Association, one of Asia's most influential graphic design organizations, has brought the exhibition "Yitisiga: Graphic Design in Japan" to Shanghai's iconic Bund for the first time as part of a China tour.
Boasting the largest and most comprehensive Japanese graphic design exhibition ever held in China, the event, hosted in partnership with Fosun Foundation and the Japan Foundation, features over 300 original works by renowned designers. Exhibits on the second floor and the "Graphic Design in Japan" yearbook focus on the evolution of Japanese designs amid social changes.
It is one of the largest and most comprehensive Japanese graphic design exhibitions ever held in China.
The exhibition features more than 300 original works by renowned designers.
A specially devised documentary aired on the third floor showcases conversations between Chinese and Japanese designers, discussing challenges stemming from generative artificial intelligence (AI) and revealing the broad possibilities of design.
To enhance the exhibition experience, related events will be held to give insight into the history and value of Japanese design. Guided exhibition tours will provide the public with diverse perspectives for understanding the exhibition. This show also provides an opportunity to ponder the essence of visual language and the future of design in the age of AI.
