Celebrating the 10th anniversary of its direct Shanghai–Vienna route this April, Austrian Airlines is showcasing Austria's rich culture and culinary heritage in Shanghai.

The airline is hosting a Viennese Coffee Pop-Up at Flambé Bistro in Xintiandi through April 12 to celebrate the milestone. The two-week event brings the elegance of Viennese coffee house culture – inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list – into a Shanghai setting.

Mozart Coffee, Wiener Mélange (black coffee with hot and frothed milk), Einspänner (black coffee topped with whipped cream and icing sugar), Fiaker (black coffee refined with cognac and whipped cream), and iced coffee are served with classic Austrian pastries. The afternoon tea set costs 68 yuan (US$9.8) and includes coffee and pastries or dishes.

"The Shanghai–Vienna route has been more than a connection – it has served as a cultural bridge between two vibrant cities and opened doors to Austria's imperial heritage, natural beauty and world-renowned coffee culture. We are delighted to share this iconic tradition with our Chinese guests through our Viennese Coffee Pop-Up, bringing a piece of Vienna's soul to Shanghai and thanking our passengers for 10 years of trust and support," said Felipe Bonifatti, vice president, Asia Pacific, Middle East & JV East, Lufthansa Group Airlines.

Culinary excellence remains central to the brand experience, with signature Austrian dishes and a unique "Coffee House Above the Clouds" with 10 varieties of UNESCO-recognized Viennese coffee offered onboard in business class on its long-haul services connecting Shanghai and Vienna.

Visitors at the pop-up can take part in a special raffle for a chance to win a round-trip ticket between Shanghai and Vienna, making this anniversary not only a tribute to the past decade but also an invitation to experience Austria firsthand.
