Celebrate Dragon Boat Festival with Rice Dumplings and Cross Cultural Stories

CNS and LAC invite families, expat residents, and international community members to a Sunday cultural gathering at Lidoway · CNS Community Hub in Qingpu's Xujing, where the Dragon Boat Festival becomes a chance to connect, learn, and share stories.

The event will introduce the origins and traditions of the festival, from its cultural significance to the customs that continue to shape celebrations today.

Guests can join hands-on activities including making wormwood bouquets, writing traditional blessing phrases to take home, and learning how to make "Zongzi," traditional Chinese sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, with guidance from local instructors.

Each table will be prepared with bamboo leaves, glutinous rice, red dates, red beans, and other ingredients for an authentic rice dumpling-making experience.

Designed for residents, families from multinational companies, and international school communities, the gathering offers a welcoming way to explore Chinese traditions while meeting neighbors from different cultural backgrounds.
