Golf, Music and Sports Activities Come to the Bund
Visitors can try golf, join sports sessions and watch music and dance performances at a three-day festival at Shanghai's Bund Finance Center and Fosun Foundation (Shanghai) over the weekend.
The golf-themed festival combines putting contests, simulator challenges, yoga, pickleball and Zumba (a dance workout that combines Latin-inspired music with easy-to-follow moves) with a market and evening entertainment. Organizers said the sports activities welcome beginners.
The festival serves as the official Bund venue for the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament at Sheshan International Golf Club. The tournament takes place October 15-18, while the Bund program focuses on activities that residents and tourists can join in central Shanghai.
Golf activities will take place on the art center's fourth-floor terrace. Visitors can enter putting contests on a green or test their driving distance in a golf simulator challenge.
The two activities offer different ways to try the sport: putting focuses on short shots toward the hole, while the simulator measures longer drives.
Sports instructors will lead yoga, pickleball and Zumba sessions.The program also includes fitness and tennis activities.
Visitors can take part in ball-game challenges and group dance sessions elsewhere at the festival. Robots and four-legged robotic dogs will give demonstrations, and a market will feature food, design products and other stalls.
Music and dance performances will run alongside the sports program. Colombian artist KillaBeatMaker will perform at BFC's terrace from 7 to 8pm on October 17. His set combines electronic music with live vocals, percussion and MC performance.
A Russian folk dance troupe will give a half-hour performance at the terrace at 2pm on October 18. A Latin rhythm master class will follow from 4 to 5pm, giving visitors another opportunity to take part.
The art center will also host an evening party on October 17, with a DJ and a temporary golf-themed cocktail bar. The announcement does not specify the party's starting time or admission arrangements.
