Head to Cervantes Institute to experience Day of the Dead
The public is invited to explore one of the world's most iconic cultural traditions, the Day of the Dead altar at the Cervantes Institute from November 7 to November 9.
Recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Day of the Dead commemorates life through remembrance and serves as a symbol of the Mexican people's deep reverence for their ancestors and their distinctive perspective on death as an integral aspect of the cycle of existence.
This year's altar honors Rosario Castellanos (1925-1974), the acclaimed Mexican writer, poet and diplomat whose words gave voice to women and Indigenous peoples, shaping modern Mexican thought and culture.
The exhibition also features "DanzaTrinas" by Mexican photographer Edgar Olguín, a series that fuses dance and the tradition of the Day of the Dead, showcasing the vitality and color of this celebration from a contemporary perspective.
