Leapmotor Flagship SUV Delivers Premium Experiences at Accessible Prices
The first Leapmotor D19 was delivered to Christian Rand Phillips, a popular actor known as Fei Xiang in China, on April 16, marking the official launch of the brand's flagship SUV, which offers a premium driving experience at an accessible price.
The price ranges from 219,800 yuan (US$32,207.95) to 269,800 yuan. To sweeten the deal, early buyers from now until the end of May can enjoy exclusive benefits with a combined value up to 50,166 yuan.
The vehicle is available in five colors: Pine Valley Green, Electric White, Liquid Silver, Canopy Gray and Metal Black.
Leveraging Leapmotor's independent research and development advantages, this is the first D series model of the Chinese electric car startup, which has been dedicated to benefiting the public through technology popularized vehicles.
Since its launch, over 65 percent of Leapmotor's core equipment and spares parts are independently developed and manufactured, which helps control the costs, thus enabling the attractive pricing.
The D19 model adopts extended-range (EREV) and pure electric (EV) dual powertrains to cater to distances ranging from weekday commutes to long-distance trips.
The EV version is equipped with CLTC batteries that can support a driving range of 720 kilometers, supported by a 34-in-1 integrated thermal management system that optimizes energy use and saves space. It can be charged to provide 350km of driving in 15 minutes
On the intelligence front, D19's dual Qualcomm 8797 central domain controller chips deliver up to 1,280 TOPS of AI (artificial intelligence) computing power, enabling seamless point-to-point navigation assistance and defensive driving capabilities. Its advanced sensor system supports 44 assisted driving functions, automatically adjusting speed and route to ensure safety in complex traffic conditions.
Design-wide, the model features flush side windows and a sleek, aerodynamic profile, complemented by a spacious interior that maximizes comfort.
With a cabin space efficiency rate of 88 percent, the six-seat version (with a 2+2+2 layout) offers ample space for family travelers to move freely, with an aisle up to 195 millimeters wide. The seven-seat version (with a 2+3+2 layout) supports one-click bed conversion in various modes.
The pioneering air purification system and oxygen supply can effectively relieve driving fatigue and prevent vehicle altitude sickness.
The SUV also features up to 50 storage slots, including a 176-liter storage compartment and a 337-liter trunk, to meet the needs of family travelers.
