Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall has launched a series of events for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, combining shopping promotions, traditional food, cultural activities and new retail experiences.

The "Fortune For Mid-Autumn, Golden Joy For National Day" campaign runs through October 16. It also marks the 27th anniversary of the opening of the pedestrian mall.

From September 25 to October 7, shoppers can enter a lucky draw after spending at least 127 yuan (US$19) at participating stores. Each qualifying 127-yuan invoice gives one entry, with no limit on the number of entries. Visitors can upload their paper or electronic invoices through the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall WeChat mini-program.

Prizes include 15 sets of 27-gram gold commemorative products from Lao Feng Xiang, as well as department store and food vouchers. The campaign also offers instant prizes and a special top prize.

The mall will also host the second Bund Mooncake Carnival at the Century Square. Long-established Shanghai brands, including Shen Dacheng, Xinya Cantonese Restaurant, Taikang Food and Zhenlaodafang, are offering traditional and new mooncakes.

Taikang Food has introduced a black pastry filled with savory meat and fermented tofu flavors, while Shen Dacheng is offering new Suzhou-style mooncakes with fermented rice wine and mochi. Xinya Cantonese Restaurant has also launched reduced-sugar mooncakes.

The event will also feature a new Nanjing Road Fortune Lantern inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival, the moon and Shanghai landmarks. Visitors can carry the lanterns along the pedestrian street and see them alongside the area's evening light displays.

New stores and pop-up events will add to the program. CHOUCHOU&FRIENDS and Lululemon are among the brands opening new stores, while exhibitions and pop-up events featuring Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Neon Genesis Evangelion are also planned.
