Qiantan to Host First New Bund Cheers Festival With Over 40 Global Bars
Shanghai's first New Bund Cheers Festival will bring more than 40 bars from the World's 50 Best and Asia's 50 Best rankings to two riverside venues in Qiantan, Pudong New Area. The event will run from October 22 to 25.
The main venue, "Tipsy Riverside," is set at Media Plaza in Qiantan Youcheng Park, offering a spacious 3,000-square-meter riverside setting along the Huangpu River. Featuring more than 38 bars topping international rankings and popular nationwide, the event offers a unique autumn drinking experience.
The sunset casts a golden glow over the river, while neon lights and the cool evening breeze create a relaxed atmosphere for sipping drinks by the water.
With more than 10 popular bars from across China participating, the event boasts Shanghai-favorite Alma Luna Cocktail Bar at the main bar. With its open-air setting and relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect spot to unwind after work, sip a cocktail and catch up with friends.
Several participants are entering new markets for the first time.
Byrdfi of Melbourne and Foco of Barcelona both make their mainland debuts, and Hope & Sesane, named Asia's best Bar and 12th in the world this year, leads the regional line-up.
Native and Maltail appear in Pudong for the first time, while Taipei's Suki Salon and Ho Chi Minh City's Stir and The Enigma Mansion make their Shanghai debut. They are joined by Wuhan's Cantinho, Tianjin's Up & Up and Chengdu's Truthserum, among many other distinctive bars.
The festival runs on a closed currency. No cash or mobile payment is accepted at any bar; drinks are exchanged with tokens bought in advance or on site, and the same tokens are valid at both sites. A stamp passport, issued to visitors who follow the official account, records each stop and can be completed through social media check-in, mini-games and cross-venue purchases, with prizes attached.
Guest shifts will feature Tammy Liu, the 2019 Fabbri Lady Amarena world champion, and Jackie Lo, Hong Kong's leading figure in the rum scene, as well as Crawford S0, a key figure in Shanghai's cutting-edge cocktail scene.
The event features not only a lineup of hidden-gem bars but also a diverse selection of specialty drinks brands. More than 10 popular food vendors will serve a variety of bites to pair with the drinks, making it an ideal spot to sip alcohol, savor good food and enjoy relaxed socializing on an autumn day.

Admission: Free entry. Bars are token-only; no cash or mobile payment is accepted. Token redemption closes at 9pm.
Tokens: 138 yuan for six, 258 yuan for 12 and 498 yuan for 24 in advance, against gate prices of 188 yuan, 358 yuan and 688 yuan. Each early bird package is limited to 200 sets.
