Shanghai College Student Tourism Carnival Opens In Yangpu

The 2026 Shanghai College Student Tourism Carnival in Yangpu District opened on Sunday evening with cultural, sports, and tourism events.

The carnival will continue until December.

The festival has four themes and 28 events. It brings together 10 universities, including Fudan and Tongji universities, and will showcase youth culture.

The district has introduced a special "Skill-cation" travel route along Daxue Road. The experience lets inbound tourists join local youth in daily life through AI workshops, campus walks, traditional kung fu, and night market activities.

Street theater will be held during the National Day holiday. The KIC Knowledge and Innovation Community will host "Theater on Site" pop-up performances and beginner drama workshops with YOUNG Theater.

October will see international events on Fuxing Island. The 25th China Shanghai International Arts Festival "ART SKY" will feature high-altitude physical theater on October 11 and 12, followed by the 18th International Exhibition of Photographic Art from October 22 to November 5.

The carnival also integrates the Yangpu sub-venue of the Shanghai International Light Festival through October 6, with light installations across the waterfront and Wujiaochang commercial area.
