Shanghai Fashion Weekend Brings Runway Shows, Markets to City Streets
Fashion is stepping off the runway and onto Shanghai's streets this month, as the Shanghai Fashion Weekend invites residents and visitors to explore pop-up markets, live fashion shows and new seasonal collections.
Running from October 16 to 25 as part of the Shanghai Fashion Week, the event will introduce the "Everyone a Buyer" initiative, encouraging visitors to discover and shop for fashion that reflects their personal style.
The activities will take place across three main locations: Xintiandi Dongtaili, Yongyuan Road and Xintiandi Style II.
From October 16 to 19, Xintiandi Dongtaili will host fashion markets, see-now-buy-now runway shows and community activities. Top brands, including Estée Lauder Companies, Huawei and Guest House, will take part, offering everything from original clothing and accessories to lifestyle products and food.
Visitors can explore autumn and winter collections, pet fashion, outdoor gear and sustainable designs, while joining fitness classes and other interactive activities.
Meanwhile, Yongyuan Road will turn its shops into a series of fashion destinations. Highlights include an outdoor-themed pop-up by Lu Xiang and Blue Erdos' "BEsties" space, alongside seasonal offerings from cycling, footwear, accessories and fragrance brands.
From October 23 to 25, Xintiandi Style II will continue the celebrations with more fashion markets and see-now-buy-now shows, allowing visitors to discover new designs and purchase their favorites directly.
A special fashion map will also connect 70 brands and their new product launches and in-store experiences across major shopping districts, including Nanjing Road W., Huaihai Road and Nanjing Road E.
Whether browsing a market, watching a fashion show, or exploring a new designer boutique, visitors can experience Shanghai Fashion Week beyond the traditional runway.
