UFC Shanghai Fight Lineup Announced, Tickets Go On Sale

The world's premier mixed martial arts event, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has announced the main event for its highly anticipated return to China: bantamweight Russian fighter Umar Nurmagomedov will face China's Song Yadong on August 29 at Shanghai Oriental Sports Center.

The co-main bout will feature Chinese strawweight fighter Yan Xiaonan and Brazilian Denise "Dee" Gomes.

The Road to UFC Season 5 semifinals will take place on August 28 at the same site, with the victors progressing to the finals for a chance to sign a UFC contract.

Tickets for the two-day events go on sale at noon on July 17. They can be purchased at Juss Sports (久事体育) app, damai.cn, trip.com, and China Mobile's Migu (咪咕) app. Each person is only eligible for four tickets.

Song, from Heilongjiang Province in northeast China, is making his sixth main event appearance after defeating former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo in Macau two months ago.

Yan, from Liaoning Province, has been a strawweight Top 5 regular since 2024. Her record includes eight KOs, eight first-round finishes, and a UFC 300 championship bid against Zhang Weili.

In other bouts, Chinese veteran "Tibetan Eagle" Sumudaerji will face American flyweight Alex Perez. Australian light heavyweight Junior Tafa will battle kickboxing world champion Liu Ce.
