Museum highlights Anhui's Chu civilization
An exhibition of cultural relics from Anhui's Chu civilization has opened at Minhang Museum, showcasing 129 sets of important items.
Divided into three sections, the exhibition tells the story of the ancient state of Chu:
- The first section explores the rise and fall of Chu's storied history.
- The second highlights the refined artifacts of Chu craftsmanship and the rich culture embedded within.
- The third delves into the development of musical instruments during the reign of King Kaolie of Chu (楚考烈王), celebrating the grandeur of the legendary "heavenly sound of Chu."
The exhibition space offers an immersive experience that is deeply rooted in Chu's cultural essence.
A projection corridor featuring patterns inspired by the ornamental patterns and design elements of Chu artifacts brings light and shadow into dramatic play. A dynamic installation inspired by the dragon-and-phoenix lacquered table unearthed at Wuwangdun (武王墩) – a major cemetery site in Anhui Province – combines animation and music to bring Chu's artistic spirit to life.
