Notes Shanghai Brings Over 200 Fragrance Brands to West Bund
Shanghai welcomed more than 200 fragrance brands from over 30 countries and regions, as Notes Shanghai 2026 Autumn Edition opened at the West Bund International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday.
Spanning more than 6,000 square meters, the four-day fair features more than 65 first-time exhibitors, highlighting the growing diversity of the global fragrance industry.
Under the theme "Another Way," this year's edition aims to challenge established trends and categories while exploring new directions in fragrance creation and sensory experiences.
A major addition is Notes Materials, a new zone bringing together 20 leading international suppliers of fragrance ingredients.
Exhibits include natural extracts, speciality distilled and fractionated materials, innovative aroma molecules, biotechnology-derived ingredients and distinctive raw materials sourced from China.
The fair will also launch the Notes Materials Index, a professional reference covering the identity, origin, processing methods and supply forms of fragrance ingredients, alongside olfactory assessments and technical data.
The index will be updated and expanded with each edition, aiming to build a long-term industry resource.
Other highlights include "meet-and-greets with perfumers," scent discovery activities, themed displays, awards and industry forums, offering visitors insights into the creative process and the expertise behind fragrance making.
The Shanghai fair is also expanding its international footprint. Its sister event, Notes Dubai, will make its debut from January 21 to 23, 2027, at the Dubai Mall Exhibition Center in the United Arab Emirates, with the hope of extending the platform's reach to the Middle East.
