A new exhibition on memory, family, and everyday design will open at Madame Mao's Dowry in April.

The exhibition was conceived by Ying Zhao, the founder of BuDóu, a brand focused on handmade screen printing and pattern design.

She sifted through her parents' belongings, uncovering how these items influenced their lives and her design outlook.

Displayed are items reflecting various moments in her family history, including her father's teenage cigarette box wrappers, her mother's handmade creations, and childhood toys. Together, they provide a serene view of the beauty in daily life and thoughtful design.

"With this exhibition, I aim to bring these memories into a cozy space and share them as a gentle reminder of how love and creativity flow from one generation to the next," she says.
