Artist Ma Liang hosts a lecture on the history of photography at the Hall of the Sun.

The Ruihong Tiandi Arts Festival, under the theme of "Life Shines at Show Time," opened over the weekend near the North Bund waterfront in Hongkou District.

The festival features three main sections: immersive theater and mobile arts, world ethnic music, and stage drama.

It began with a theatrical performance by artist Ma Liang and his team on Saturday, offering a diverse and innovative experience.

The exhibits include five large mobile installations, including the Sphinx, Monkey King and Sweet Demon King and three smaller mobile installations, combining aesthetics, low-tech, steampunk and cyberpunk art styles.

They will parade across the malls and shopping hubs at the Ruihong Tiandi through September 24.

In conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on September 29 this year, the "Moonlight Concert" will combine local ethnic and Western pop music elements, presenting nearly 50 high-quality and unique musical performances.

The arts festival aims to create a life-social scene, introducing cutting-edge art elements from around the world, enhancing the inheritance of local culture and igniting cultural curiosity in urban communities, according to the Ruihong Tiandi.
