14th Shanghai International Magic Festival Casts a Spell

The 14th Shanghai International Magic Festival, an important program of the ongoing 24th China Shanghai International Arts Festival, began on Tuesday and will run through Sunday (November 2).
Just as modern dance broke the mold of classical ballet, contemporary magic is transcending traditional forms and blending deeply with drama, creating performances with richer artistic content and visual impact.
The festival will present eight performances of two stage productions – the innovative magic drama "Tim" by Belgium's Alogique Company and the international close-up magic master gala show.
"Tim" stars the 2022 FISM World Magic Champion Laurent Piron, who combines narrative drama with magical techniques in an immersive spectacle.

The international close-up magic showcase will feature five world-renowned magicians, namely Alexandra Duvivier, Eric Chien, Andrew Goldenhersh, Juan Luis Rubiales and Mario Lopez.
In addition to the shows, street magic will also animate the plaza around the venue with impromptu acts by foreign performers.
The festival will also showcase a series of new creative magic props. Professionals from home and abroad will discuss the development and global trends of magic.
Magic lovers are invited to the magic-themed market to interact with artists through immersive light-hearted activities.
Online ticketing for the shows has already started on Damai.
