Argentinian group to 'Tango in the Shadows' in Shanghai

The Argentine dance show "Tango In The Shadows," featuring the acclaimed dancer Marcos Lionel Ayala, will be performed at the Shanghai International Dance Center from December 31, 2025, to January 2, 2026.
Tango is central to the performance, with ensemble, duet, and solo variations intricately weaving together a dramatic narrative. The production delves into the themes of desire and freedom, domination and resistance, as well as darkness and redemption through the medium of dance.

The story follows a mysterious man and Alma, the leading dancer, as they struggle and reconcile.
An unknown man interrupts the dancers' rehearsal in an empty Buenos Aires theater. Alma is enchanted by his powerful movements and drawn into a dark world of desire and temptation.
Tango symbolizes power, seduction, and inner struggle here. Alma finds strength in darkness and redemption through love and forgiveness.

Established in 2012, Argentina recognizes the Marcos Ayala Tango Company as one of its national treasures. Since its inception, the company has quickly gained international prominence for its artistic excellence and innovative stage productions.
