Big Screen Magic Brings Stage Favorites To Life
Five popular theater productions, including "Inter Alia" featuring Rosamund Pike, will be screened on big screens during the second round of Jasmine Theater's 2025 NewLive showcase from November 16 to 21.
This showcase highlights some of the world's most celebrated plays, musicals, and concerts, offering audiences an immersive viewing experience through screenings on the theater's large screen.
"Inter Alia" is a legal drama by Australian playwright Suzie Miller, which premiered at the National Theatre in London earlier this year.
The play follows Jessica Parks, a distinguished and trailblazing judge at the London Crown Court, portrayed by English actress Rosamund Pike.
The central conflict arises when a personal crisis intersects with her professional ethics – her son faces allegations of rape made by a classmate following a party.
"Inter Alia" was included in the first round of Jasmine Theater's NewLive showcase, which proved popular when tickets for its two screenings last week sold out immediately.
Playwright Miller and director Justin Martin showed up at the Jasmine Theater after the screening on November 7, engaging with audiences on topics such as feminist issues and legal ethics.
Other shows featured in the second round of the showcase include the National Theater's "Vanya," adapted from Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya," with actor Andrew Scott playing multiple roles in the production.
The Russian play "King Lear" stars four-time Golden Mask winner Konstantin Raikin.
The two musicals on the program are the Tony Award-winning "Next to Normal" and "42nd Street."
