The "Discover Germany 2025 – German Brand Week" at the Bund City Hall Plaza is showcasing German technology, latest skincare products, and food and beverage offerings during a four-day street bazaar.

The event, which opened on Thursday, is a significant initiative by the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) China aimed at promoting economic, trade and cultural exchanges between China and Germany.

Visitors can expect on-the-spot surprises, product tastings from various brands, and a selection of exclusive gifts, such as limited-edition canvas totes.

Over 50 iconic German brands are showcasing their offerings for the first time at this downtown venue, including food and beverages, wellness and health, personal care, family and pets, outdoor and home living, and automotive. Notable brands include BMW, Schwarzkopf, Deuter, Leuchtturm1917 and Dr Hauschka.

Maximilian Butek, executive director and board member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China – East China, emphasized the event's importance in promoting products while fostering consumer trust and emotional connections, reflecting a broader economic dynamic.

"As Germany and China remain deeply connected through trade and investment, this also helps us to build bridges between companies and consumers, between business and society," he said.

Children and adults are encouraged to participate in fun games, such as "Guess the German Word" and "Seek Out Hidden German Stickers."

In the Creative Zone, children can unleash their imagination, building their own fantastic worlds and experiencing the joy of creation.

Visitors can also take a trial course offered by the Goethe-Institut, where they can learn essential phrases for ordering drinks – an ideal and practical step in learning German!
