Low-Altitude Flights Link Qidong with Shanghai Airports

A low-altitude business flight service has begun operations in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, offering rapid connections to Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao airports, as well as Nantong Xingdong Airport in Jiangsu Province.

It cuts travel time significantly, with one-way helicopter flights taking about 20 minutes to Pudong, 35 minutes to Hongqiao, and 18 minutes to Nantong.

The service operates on a charter basis, with round-trip fares ranging from 4,800 to 9,000 yuan (US$685-1,284.5) and seating for up to six passengers per flight. A 10 percent discount is being offered ahead of the Spring Festival.

The routes are jointly operated by HELI-EASTERN, based in Shenzhen, and Shengfei Tech, a state-owned low-altitude economy operator under Qisheng Group. Bookings can be made via the "空中的士出行" WeChat mini program. For inquiries, call 188-6281-9908.

Qidong previously experimented with helicopter flights to Shanghai in 2000, but the route was suspended after two years due to high ticket prices and limited convenience. The new routes reflect advances in low-altitude aviation and renewed demand for faster regional connectivity.
