The 2025 China iQFOiL Master International Tournament, an elite windsurfing competition, is set to unfold in Shanghai's Qingpu district from Nov 13 to 17.

Since its debut in 2018, the tournament has secured a firm place on the global stage. This year, its prestige has risen further with official recognition from World Sailing, the international governing body for the sport, as an Olympic-level 50-point event.

The 2025 edition will feature three categories: professional, master, and amateur. The field will bring together top athletes from around the world, including China’s Huang Jingye and Lu Yunxiu, along with reigning men's champion Fabien Pianazz.

The tournament will follow the World Sailing racing rules for 2025-2028 and be officiated by a distinguished panel of judges, comprising three international and five national judges.

The venue for this year's competition, Yuandang Lake, offers more expansive waters and superior wind conditions compared to previous venues. The course has been redesigned to feature a slalom format, making the rankings more visible and adding to the event's excitement.

Beyond the high-level competition, the organizing committee has planned a series of cultural activities for participants, including visits to local attractions such as Jinze Ancient Town and Shanghai Grand View Garden.

A specially curated tour route has also been introduced to entice spectators to explore the surrounding region, allowing both participants and visitors to experience the adrenaline of water sports while immersing themselves in the unique charm of Shanghai's rural and water town culture.
