China International Import Expo (CIIE) serves as a crucial platform not only for new products but also for industry-leading solutions and ideas for global lighting company Signify.

With a focus on "AI-Driven Smart Lighting" and "Sustainable Lighting Design," Signify presents a series of new product launches and showcasing industry-leading solutions spanning the fields of AI, well-being, and sustainability.

"As a frequent participant at the CIIE, we deeply feel the unique value and the strong potential of the event, and we're committed to introducing innovative solutions to the China market and to joining hands with the CIIE to promote China's vast potential," said Karl Yin, Signify China CEO.

Signify showcased its Interact City Flex connected road lighting system in China at the expo – the industry's first solution integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence. The localized system, designed for complex urban environments, has recently gone into operation in Dalian's High-Tech Industrial Zone.

"Based on our strong local research, manufacturing, and supply chain, we have deeply integrated Chinese users' unique preferences, such as smart home integration, eyesight protection, and sleep improvement functions, into our early-stage technology research initiatives," explained Yin.

Signify is also deepening collaborations with industry partners, including forming a strategic partnership with Shanghai Modern Agricultural Investment Development Group at the sixth CIIE.

At this year's expo, Signify signed a joint innovation agreement with the National Innovation Center Par Excellence, a key technology hub in the Yangtze River Delta. They will collaborate on new materials, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development to advance R&D, accelerate innovation adoption, and build a leading industry partnership.

The environmentally friendly chandelier model "Philips E9 sustainable pendent light," a global debut at this year's expo, marks Signify's new exploration in pursuing sustainable development by incorporating its forward-thinking concepts in green manufacturing and circular economy. It uses eco-friendly paper tubes and recycled aluminum, minimizing carbon emissions across its entire lifecycle.

"The core of the Healthy China 2030 strategy is to build a 'livable, green, and safe' human habitat, which aligns perfectly with the mission of the lighting industry, and Signify firmly believes that with the rapid advancement of technology, lighting goes beyond illumination," said Yin.

In this regard, it focuses on low-carbon lighting and health-focused lighting solutions and extends the concept of healthy lighting to diverse applications to enhance user health and well-being.

Shanghai is home to Signify's largest R&D site and the China Research Institute.

It has created a personalized AI lighting solution that adapts to moods and settings, enhancing home comfort and entertainment. The new Philips Anrui Solution caters to elderly users with features such as adaptive lighting, fall-detection sensors, and voice or app-based control for safety and ease of use.

"We are committed to exploring the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology with smart connected lighting systems, both in terms of professional lighting and home lighting," he added.
