Shanghai, on Wednesday, signed a procurement order for aircraft engine components – its first contract at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The Shanghai trading group's first order at the expo was worth more than US$100 million, and the buyer was a joint venture from the Qingpu District trading delegation.

The first business license handed out at the expo was to thyssenkrupp nucera Hydrogen Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd, a new member of the thyssenkrupp nucera Group.

It plans to build a local R&D facility for design, manufacturing and sales in the Chinese market.

The first food operation license issued at the CIIE went to GrandBeauty Life Care Corporation, which is an innovative technology enterprise driven by nutritional science, biotechnology and digital health.

"We obtained the food operation license in just 10 days – far ahead of the expected two-month processing time – thanks to the efficient services and accelerated approval process provided by the Qingpu market authorities," said Zhao Jihua, general manager of the company.

"CIIE is a crucial platform for our company to enter the Chinese market. With strong resources in North America and Europe for food sourcing, we aim to leverage the CIIE to expand our food business in China, complementing its existing cosmetics line," said Zhao.

"The license, a key entry requirement, has laid a solid foundation for the company's market penetration, and the rapid approval is a great boost to our development," he added. "Qingpu District is an ideal place for enterprises aspiring to grow and go global. It provides fertile ground for businesses to thrive, from small to large, and expand internationally."
