This autumn, Jing'an is transforming Shanghai nights with romance, culture and street energy. The district's pop-up markets, art installations and riverside cruises are making evenings festive and creative.

The FUN&IN Tea & Coffee Market illuminated Fengshengli Jing'an Temple Plaza for the 30th Shanghai International Tea Culture Tourism Festival from September 19–21. More than 30 stalls sold tea, coffee, crafts and creative goods until 11pm. Flash mobs, blind-box raffles and a pet-friendly Yongyuan Road sub-venue with live watercolor painting and community projects added urban fun. A themed Suzhou Creek cruise offered tea and city views from the deck.

On September 6–7, Zhangyuan and Maoming Road N. hosted Tipsy Night Lane, a seaside-inspired market that transformed historic shikumen (stone gate) blocks into a breezy resort. Visitors enjoyed cocktails, took moonlit photos and explored installations where heritage walls met beachside daydreams – a new landmark for Shanghai's night economy – amid waves, umbrellas and deck chairs.

Since August 29, Fengshengli has also staged the Season of Abundance, themed "Summer of Love." The program turned public space into a stage for poetry, music, dance and art. Among the highlights: Romance of Love Poems, Shanghai's first open-air poetry exhibition devoted to love, drawing crowds looking for a more soulful encounter with the city.

At Suhewan MIXC World on Qixi Festival, China's Valentine's Day, 100 couples pledged their love on the lawn, set sail from the Suzhou Creek pier for water weddings and celebrated under hundreds of glowing drones.

Jing'an is creating a vibrant nightlife that comes alive with culture, commerce and creativity, offering experiences from sipping tea on the river to lounging seaside-style in a heritage lane and strolling through poetry-lit plazas.
