Shanghai Fashion Week kicks off

The spring and summer edition of Shanghai Fashion Week opened at Taipinghu Park in Xintiandi on Oct 9.

This season, Chinese designer brands took center stage, unveiling a vibrant new vision of Chinese fashion across a range of venues, from historic landmarks to innovative new spaces.

At the main Xintiandi venue, five runway shows were held in succession, four of which featured leading Chinese designer labels.

Extending the excitement beyond the runway, the Xintiandi Autumn/Winter Fashion Season will run from Oct 18 to 19, gathering local brands for "see-now, buy-now" shows designed to energize Shanghai's debut economy.
